Thanksgiving Day


Thanksgiving Day is a favourite holiday in the USA. It has a long and interesting hustory.


In 1620 the first colonists arrived in America from England. They had to survive on their new land and the first winter was very difficult. But they met some friendly native Americans and could get a good harvest on the following autumn. They had a rich dinner to thank God for their survival.


Nowadays every November people in the USA celebrate Thanksgiving Day with their families. They have special Thanksgiving dinners with roast turkeys and pumpkin pies.
